Nigerian businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose has criticised Nigerians who, according to him, continue to support President Bola Tinubu along ethnic lines despite the rise in fuel prices.
Fayose argued that the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari increased the price of petrol from N87 to N180 per litre, while accusing those who brought Buhari to power of later claiming they would fix the problems created by his administration.
He further criticised the subsequent increase in petrol prices under Tinubu, saying the price rose from N180 to about N1,300, yet some Nigerians still planned to support the president because he is Yoruba.
He said …
“Someone that brought Buhari. Buhari carried your fuel from 87 naira to 180 naira. The person wey bring that Buhari con come say him wan fix the mess wey Buhari don put for your life. Him come carry that fuel from 180 naira to 1,300 naira and you’re still there saying na Yoruba, I go vote for am. Tribalism kpai…. you’ll kpai in hunger…”
