A woman has stirred reactions online after narrating how she turned down a man who approached her for a relationship upon discovering he supports the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The incident, which she shared on social media, reportedly occurred while she was heading out to make deliveries, when the man walked up to express interest in her.
According to her account, she initially entertained the conversation until the man revealed his political affiliation by wearing an APC-branded cap, which immediately changed her disposition towards him.
How the encounter unfolded
Recounting the experience, the lady said: “I was going out yesterday to make deliveries and this guy walked up to me and told me he likes me. At first he wasn’t wearing the APC cap. I was already giving him audience. All of a sudden because the sun was high, he brought it out and wore it and bam, I told him please I cannot listen to what you’re saying. He noticed my reaction changed and kept asking why. I didn’t want to answer, but he kept pressuring me. Oga, anybody supporting APC you don’t have sense. You’re not thinking about your future.”
Public reaction and political context
She further expressed frustration over Nigeria’s economic and security challenges, linking them to her stance.
“With everything going on in this country, the killings, insecurity, hunger, some people are still supporting APC. People are dying and the president still requested for a ₦6 billion loan,” she said.
Her comments come amid ongoing public criticism of government policies, echoing past reactions seen during previous economic reforms that triggered widespread debate.
