Ademola Lookman finally opened his goal account for the season, netting in Atalanta’s 1-1 draw with AC Milan, their fifth consecutive Serie A stalemate that leaves La Dea unbeaten but struggling to turn draws into wins.

Lookman breaks drought after summer saga

The Nigerian forward, who made headlines during the summer over transfer drama, delivered a timely reminder of his attacking prowess.

He drew Atalanta level midway through the first half, racing onto Mario Pašalić’s well-timed through ball before smashing a thunderous left-footed finish into the roof of the net, his first goal since returning from the off-field uncertainty.

Milan had earlier gone ahead through Samuele Ricci, whose half-volley took a heavy deflection off Ederson, wrong-footing Marco Carnesecchi in the Atalanta goal.

Missed chances on both ends

Both sides created opportunities but lacked the finishing touch. Milan’s Alexis Saelemaekers wasted a golden chance after combining well with Youssouf Fofana, while Atalanta substitute Davide Zappacosta nearly snatched all three points late on, forcing Mike Maignan into a superb fingertip save from long range.

Atalanta unbeaten but unconvincing

The result extends Atalanta’s unbeaten run to nine games, yet their inability to convert stalemates into victories remains a concern for Gian Piero Gasperini. Milan, meanwhile, continue to lose ground in the title race after dropping points for the second consecutive week.
