Atalanta have vowed to impose disciplinary action on forward Ademola Lookman after he failed to attend training for five consecutive days without official permission.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A club has so far avoided drastic measures, mindful of ongoing transfer links between Lookman and Inter Milan, who are reportedly preparing a fresh bid for the Nigerian international.

Despite his absence, Lookman remains under contract and has been officially summoned to training sessions.

He is also recovering from a muscle injury under a prescribed programme, though it remains unclear whether he is receiving treatment privately.

Atalanta have refrained from making public accusations, but club sources indicate a substantial fine is planned, along with salary deductions for the missed period, per All Nigeria Soccer.

These penalties will be formalised at the end of August during the club’s monthly financial review.

The Bergamo outfit view the absence as a breach of professional obligations and insist the matter will not be overlooked.
