The home-based Super Eagles have commenced preparations for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) with 21 players currently in camp at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne, Ogun State.

The training camp officially opened on Monday, with head coach Eric Chelle overseeing the first session, which began at 7:00 PM.

The session included tactical drills, fitness exercises, and team-building routines aimed at assessing players’ physical condition and integrating a clear playing philosophy.

The 21 players in camp are drawn from various Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs and form the early core of the CHAN squad.

An additional 14 invited players are expected to join the camp on Tuesday, July 8, pending logistical arrangements and club commitments.

Players currently in camp include: Nduka Junior, Adedayo Olanipekun, Sadiq Ismail, Kayode Bankole, Tochukwu Michael, Sikiru Alimi, and Hadi Haruna (all from Remo Stars).

Others are Harrison Austin, Adelani Shola, Ayomide Cole, and Leonard Ngenge (Ikorodu City); Lawal Mustapha (Shooting Stars); Abdulrafiu Taiwo, Taofeek Otaniyi, Ani Henry, Egbe Stephen, and Aniekeme Okon (Rivers United).

Temitope Vincent (Plateau United); Nurudeen Badmos and Afeez Bankole (Kwara United); and Atule Joseph (Enyimba).

Nigeria has been drawn in Group D alongside defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo.

The team finished as runners-up in the 2018 edition of the tournament, and will be hoping to improve on that record this time around.
