Nottingham Forest have confirmed that Ola Aina has signed a new three-year contract, committing his future to the Premier League club until 2028.
Aina, 28, initially joined Forest in July 2023 on a one-year deal following the expiration of his contract with Serie A side Torino.
His performances during Forest’s successful fight against relegation in the 2023/24 season prompted the club to activate a one-year extension clause in May 2024.
Following advanced negotiations reported late last year, Forest have now secured Aina’s long-term services after he made 37 appearances across all competitions in the 2024/25 season, contributing three goals and two assists.
Operating primarily as a right-back under head coach Nuno EspÃrito Santo, the Nigeria international played a key role in helping Forest secure a seventh-place finish and a FA Cup semi-final berth.
Aina has now accumulated 59 appearances for the club. His extension follows similar long-term deals handed to striker Chris Wood, defender Murillo (contracted until 2029), and manager Nuno EspÃrito Santo, who recently extended his tenure through 2028.
A product of Chelsea’s academy, Aina previously had loan spells at Hull City, Torino, and Fulham before moving permanently to Italy in 2019.
He has earned 40 caps for Nigeria since making his senior debut in 2017.
