John was born to his parents on January 6, 1978, in the United States. Delony was born and reared in the Houston, Texas region. John is a well-educated individual. He finished his primary education at a nearby school in his hometown. He pursued higher studies at Lubbock Christian University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Psychology. Career
Delony’s career in higher education leadership began with student affairs jobs at Abilene Christian University and Lubbock Christian University, where he graduated. He later became the assistant dean of students at LCU.
Delony was the associate academic dean of students at Texas Tech University School of Law, as well as the University Campus Life Office’s general liaison. He also chaired the Student Support and Emergency Team, advised the Student Bar Association, and helped with strategic planning at the School of Law.
Delony began serving as associate provost and dean of students at Belmont University in May 2018. Delony joined Ramsey Solutions in 2020 as a Ramsey Personality, focusing on mental health and interpersonal connections. He co-hosts the nationally syndicated radio program The Ramsey Show and has his own podcast, The Dr. John Delony Show.
In addition to his books, Delony developed Ramsey Solutions’ Questions for Humans conversation starter card decks. He has also appeared on the Today, The Minimalists, and Jordan Peterson podcasts, as well as keynoted live events both inside and outside of Ramsey Solutions.
