Renowned Kano-based business tycoon and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has passed away at the age of 94.

The elder statesman reportedly died in the early hours of Saturday in Abuja, marking the end of a remarkable life dedicated to commerce, philanthropy, and national development.

His Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Junaid, confirmed the sad news in a heartfelt message shared via his Facebook page.

“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. It is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of our beloved father Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and forgive his shortcomings,” Junaid wrote.

He also stated that details of the Janazah (funeral prayers) would be announced in due course.

Alhaji Dantata was one of Nigeria’s most influential businessmen and a towering figure in the northern elite, widely respected for his philanthropic contributions across education, health, and religious development.
