A lady has called out a Lagos aesthetic clinic for allegedly leaving her with permanent scar and emotional trauma after undergoing skincare treatment.

The lady identified as @iamthelma_ took to the microblogging platform, X to cry out.

lady
Lady.

According to her, she had reached out to the aesthetic clinic in 2023 and had utilized their skincare treatment services for her acne.

However, things had slowly gone down hill as her situation worsened with the treatment leaving her with permanent scare and causing her emotional trauma.

The lady further revealed that the brand is threatening to sue her if she should go public with the matter.

She wrote …

“HOW I WENT FROM HOPE TO PERMANENT DAMAGE AND THE BRAND THAT CAUSED THIS IS THREATENING ME WITH 2 YEARS IMPRISONMENT IF I SPEAK OUT!

On the 9th of August 2023, I reached out to Hello Perfect Aesthetic & Laser Clinic with one goal: to heal my acne-prone skin and gain my confidence back.
Instead, I walked away with a permanent scar, emotional trauma, and silence from the brand that caused it. This is my story.

I live in Delta and school in Anambra. After seeing their flashy posts on Instagram, I reached out to their team for help with face acne and underarm depigmentation.
They asked me to pay ₦30,000 for a virtual consultation, which I did.

When we finally spoke, they sent me a treatment plan that jumbled everything face and underarm treatment into one messy breakdown.( THE FIRST RED-FLAG) 🚩
Still, I trusted them. I told them I’d come to their Abuja clinic on 22nd Sept 2023 for my first acne treatment. And I did.

They said I’d need 2–3 acne sessions, I followed up and went to Lagos on 17th Oct for the second session.
That day, they introduced laser resurfacing to me and showed me flawless before-and-after pictures. They said it was safe and effective. I believed them.

I had a vacation coming up in December. I asked: “Will I heal in time?”
They said: “Yes. 3 weeks max. You’ll be fine.”
What they never told me was that a depigmentation procedure was required after the laser. I had zero idea.

I booked the laser for 21st November 2023 in Lagos and paid in full.
During the procedure, I experienced a burning sensation which I complained. They said it was normal.
Worse? I witnessed their staff arguing bcos the 4% hydroquinone wasn’t available so they gave me 10%

No follow-up. No check-ins.
On 1st Dec, I sent a photo update. They told me to use the 10% Kligman cream and check back after 3 days.
I did. Still, nothing. Until 5th December, when they casually said I’d need a depigmenting procedure in January.

I was devastated. I was about to travel for a vacation looking burnt. I was never warned this would happen.
If I had known, I’d NEVER have done laser resurfacing so close to my travel. But they never told me. And that’s where the damage began!

Even worse, they posted my laser treatment on their story even before they saw the results or checked in on me.
My friend had to intervene and ask them to take it down. Still, no apology. No one followed up. I felt used and discarded.

By January, I had lost complete trust in Hello Perfect.
They barely responded. I cancelled my next session and told them I was no longer interested.
They never asked why.
They never cared.
They just moved on.

For over 2years, I struggled with the burns, scarring, loss of confidence, and emotional toll this experience took on me.
No empathy. No accountability.
Until I made one quiet post on TikTok in April 2025… and they suddenly reached out.

They said it was for a “virtual review.”
I joined thinking they wanted to offer support. But it wasn’t a review. It was an interrogation.
Their CEO joined, told me how much they spent on equipment, and said they “scare people away from doing laser” because it’s intense.

Yet no one scared me away.
No one warned me.
And when I told them I was given 10% hydroquinone, they said it was normal.
After that call, I involved my lawyer because I felt like they were trying to play a fast one. She wrote to them twice.
They ignored the first letter.

Then suddenly, they replied with a letter denying everything and threatening me with 2 years imprisonment if I spoke out.
But here I am.
Speaking.
Because I’ve stayed silent for too long.
Because this scar is not just physical, it’s emotional, and it’s public.

Hello Perfect failed me. They hurt me. And they tried to silence me.
They ruined my skin and then tried to gaslight me about it.
If they can do this to me, a medical student who documented everything, imagine what they’re doing to others.

To every Nigerian who has suffered from any aesthetic clinic or medical negligence,
You are not alone.
Speak up. Demand better.
And if Hello Perfect hurt you too, reply this thread. Share your story. Let’s protect each other from silence.

This is my story.
And my voice will be louder than any lawyer trying to bury it.
#HelloPerfect #SkinJustice #NigerianDeserveBetter”
