Carlo Ancelotti has now five Champions League trophies as a coach, following Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.
The win, his third with Real Madrid, adds to his two previous victories with AC Milan.
Ancelotti, 64, now stands alone in the European football history books, having previously held the record with four titles.
He won the Champions League with Milan in 2003 and 2007, and with Real Madrid in 2014, 2022, and now 2024.
In the final against Dortmund, Real Madrid faced a challenging start as Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi posed an early threat, beating Thibaut Courtois only to be blocked by Dani Carvajal.
Niclas Fullkrug’s offside strike hit the post, and Courtois made other crucial saves against Adeyemi and Marcel Sabitzer.
However, Madrid turned the game around in the second half.
Dani Carvajal opened scoring at the Wembley stadium with a header from a Kroos corner.
Jude Bellingham nearly added another, but his shot was deflected wide.
Vinicius Junior sealed the win with an assist from Bellingham, capitalizing on a defensive error by Ian Maatsen.
Dortmund’s Fullkrug had a late goal disallowed for offside, ensuring Madrid ended the final on a clean slate.
