The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has called on security agencies to investigate and take action against social media personality Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, over a controversial medical report circulating online.

In a strongly worded statement, the association denied claims that any of its members issued a medical report confirming a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis for her.

NMA Distances Itself From Viral Report

The controversy began after Blessing CEO reportedly shared a histology report allegedly from Xinus Medical Diagnostics, claiming it confirmed she was battling advanced cancer.

However, the NMA clarified that the document in circulation was not issued to her and had been misrepresented.

According to the association, the report was originally produced by Xinus Medical Diagnostics and signed by consultant pathologist, Dr O. A. Odigwe.

Original Patient Identified

The association explained that the laboratory was contacted in May 2025 by a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba for a confirmatory breast cancer test.

The test result, issued on May 9, 2025, belonged to a different patient identified as Mbara Deborah.

It further stated that the authentic report had been sent through the proper medical channel to the referring doctor and patient.

Allegation of Alteration

The NMA revealed that the same report currently circulating online appears to have been altered and falsely linked to Blessing Okoro.

It added that the version shared publicly was traced to a law firm, Allen Juris Law, which allegedly circulated the original document bearing the actual patient’s name.

The association stressed that at no point did the diagnostic centre issue any report to Blessing CEO.

Call for Investigation

Expressing concern over the situation, the NMA emphasised the need to protect the integrity of medical professionals and institutions.

It urged relevant authorities to step in and investigate the matter thoroughly to prevent members of the public from being misled or exploited.

“The integrity of our association and its members is very paramount and should not therefore be taken for granted,” the statement noted.

The association also warned the public to be cautious and verify sensitive medical claims before accepting or sharing them online.
