Tension erupted in a Nigerian community after a man allegedly forced his wife and her three children out of their home at night following a DNA test which reportedly showed the children were not biologically his.
Shocking midnight eviction
The incident, said to have happened recently, has since sparked widespread outrage, with many condemning the timing and manner of the eviction.
Eyewitness accounts circulating online suggest the woman and her children were left stranded late at night, raising concerns about their safety.
Reacting to the development, a concerned woman criticised the man’s actions, stressing that such decisions should not be made in anger or desperation.
“How do you send a woman and her three kids out at night just because a DNA test says they’re not yours?. If you’re married under the Act, that’s a crime. Forceful eviction of your spouse can land you in serious trouble—you could even face jail time.”
Calls for calm and due process
The incident has reignited debates around paternity disputes and the need for legal channels in resolving marital crises.
The woman further advised that while the emotional pain may be overwhelming, the law must be respected.
“Yes, the DNA result is painful. But the right step is legal—file for divorce and seek compensation if necessary. Throwing them out at night is unlawful and dangerous. If anything happens to them, you’ll be held responsible.”
