A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after sharing her personal experience during her first months of motherhood.
The lady, identified as @janetfunmion on X (formerly Twitter), recounted how a stressful day at work as a banker led to an unusual but relieving moment at home.
The Struggle of a Working New Mum
In her post, she explained how difficult it was balancing life as a young banker and a first-time mother.
With her baby just five months old, she described racing home after work each day to breastfeed him.
On the particular day she shared, she returned home already dealing with severe breast engorgement and discomfort, hoping to nurse her son immediately.
When Plans Went Wrong
According to her, she had instructed the nanny not to feed the baby shortly before she arrived so he would be hungry enough to breastfeed.
However, things did not go as planned.
She met her son already full after being fed Cerelac, and he refused to latch.
The situation reportedly worsened her discomfort, as the engorgement intensified and she began experiencing feverish symptoms.
Husband Steps In
In the middle of the discomfort, her husband reportedly offered to help. Though she initially hesitated, she said he insisted and eventually stepped in to relieve the pressure.
She described the moment humorously, noting that her husband was shy at first but later reacted to the taste in a surprising way. By the end of it, she said she felt immense relief.
Sharing the experience online, she wrote:
“Being a young banker and a new mum is a stage that nobody prepares you for.
My son was just five months, and after a long day at the bank, coming back home was like an Olympic sprint.
My br£a$ts were already the size of a Mikano generator; very heavy, p@inful, and literally dripping through my camisol.
My plan was simple, I told the nanny, Strictly no food 30 minutes before I walk in. I needed my boy to be h¥ngry enough to do the Lord’s work. But alas, the village people were at work that day.
I walked in only to find out she had already fed him Cerelac. My son just looked at me, completely unbothered, refusing to latch because he was living his best full-stomach life.
Within minutes, the engorgement turned into a full blown f£v£r. The chills were hitting, and the discomfort was top-tier.
My husband saw the vision (and the str¥ggle) and stepped up. “Sweet, let me help you out,” he said.
I was like, “Hian! for where?” But the man insisted. Na so we enter the room o.
Initially, he was feeling somehow, a bit hesitant, a bit shy. Then suddenly, baba paused and said, Wait o, this thing actually tastes good sha!
He really put in the work and cleared the whole tank. By the time he started feeling a bit naus£0us toward the end, the mission was already accomplished.
The relief that washed over the body was unmatched.
Praise the Lord.”
