A woman has sparked conversation online after cautioning women against blindly consuming relationship and lifestyle advice circulating on social media, particularly content that promotes seeking wealthy men for financial comfort.

Lady cautions women against relying on ‘rich men’ narratives

In a video shared online, the woman expressed concern over what she described as misleading narratives encouraging women to rely on “rich men” rather than personal effort and financial independence.

As a woman, filter what you hear. Some girls are out here putting out content that women are consuming just because they want to go to a place where there are rich men who will spend on them.”

Calls for discernment amid rising online lifestyle trends

She noted that while such content is being promoted online, many women are still struggling to fund their own needs and are working hard to stay financially afloat.

There is another girl somewhere trying to gather money to pay for her stuff,” she said, adding that the contrast highlights deeper issues around economic pressure and unrealistic expectations.

Reacting to videos allegedly advising women to shop at high-end locations to meet wealthy men, she described the trend as worrying.

The most hilarious one I’ve come across this week is someone encouraging girls to go shop at Yemol’s so they will meet big boys who will sponsor them,” she said.

She concluded by urging women to be cautious, saying, “The internet is messed up. There are a lot of advices online, and you have to filter them out of your life.”
