Israel has condemned Iran following its recent missile attack on U.S. military bases in the Middle East, branding Tehran a “terrorist state” that poses a threat to global security.
The Israeli military reacted strongly on Monday after Iran fired a wave of missiles at U.S. bases in Qatar and Iraq in retaliation for recent U.S. airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear sites.
Military spokesman Rear Admiral Effie Defrin, speaking during a televised press briefing, said Iran’s actions prove its threat extends beyond the region.
“I want to say that this is further proof of hostility and violence and of the fact that Iran is a terrorist state, which threatens not only Israel, but the entire Middle East, including its neighbours and the entire world,” Defrin told reporters.
Israel has been conducting airstrikes against Iranian targets since launching a surprise military operation on June 13, which has further escalated tensions in the region.
Meanwhile, Qatar has also condemned Iran’s missile assault on the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. base in the Gulf — describing the attack as a blatant violation of its sovereignty.
Videos captured in Doha showed projectiles streaking across the night sky, as Qatari air defenses responded to the missile barrage.
