Cristiano Ronaldo scored a late winner as Portugal secured a 2-1 comeback victory over Scotland in their UEFA Nations League clash at the Estadio da Luz.
Despite a bright start from the visitors, who took the lead through Scott McTominay’s eighth-minute header, Portugal turned the game around in the second half.
Ronaldo, introduced at halftime, netted the decisive goal in the 88th minute, slotting home a Nuno Mendes cross.
The 39-year-old’s goal sealed the victory after Bruno Fernandes had leveled the score in the 54th minute with a low strike that slipped past Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn.
Portugal dominated possession throughout the match, but Scotland’s defense held firm until Ronaldo’s late intervention.
