Chelsea’s versatile left-back, Ben Chilwell, is on the verge of leaving the West London club this summer transfer window.

This comes after new coach Enzo Maresca suggested that it would be best for him to seek more playing time elsewhere.

Maresca, speaking about the England’s international situation at Stamford Bridge said, “It’s probably better he goes and leaves and finds minutes.

“I love the way he is, the problem is that he is struggling to find the right position with us.”

The Chelsea vice captain last season has found it challenging to fit into Maresca’s style of play, which has now prompted the club and player to consider parting ways.

Recall he largely missed several of the Blues matches last season, due to consistent injury woes and poor run of form.

In other news, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Chelsea and Atlético Madrid are nearing a final agreement for the transfers of João Félix and Conor Gallagher.

The discussions have been positive so far, with Félix reportedly agreeing to contract terms with Chelsea.

Romano dispelled rumors of a €60 million fixed fee for Félix, indicating that all parties are working towards completing the deal by this weekend.
