Saul Niguez has secured a loan move to Sevilla from Atletico Madrid, marking his second loan spell at the club in three years.
Sevilla have the option to extend the loan for an additional season.
Atletico Madrid’s manager, Diego Simeone, reportedly informed Saul that he was not in his plans for the new season.
Eager to reduce their wage bill, Atletico were open to offloading Saul’s reported €8 million annual salary.
If Sevilla choose to extend the loan, Saul’s contract with Atletico will expire in 2026, making him a free agent.
The 29-year-old midfielder, who has played over 400 games for Atletico, has previously had loan stints at Rayo Vallecano and Chelsea.
Saul has been integral to Atletico’s success, contributing to their two league title wins under Simeone.
