Man, DJ Spoiltkid, who was among those who defamed Nathaniel Bassey and Mercy Chinwo writes long apology, claiming depression since he received the petition.
The young man whose name on Twitter is @spoiltkid, tendered his apology via mail and also on his Twitter page.
He had shared a video made by another person who claimed the child was not for Blessed Uzochikwa, while asking when he was carrying out a DNA test.
As a result, he was one of the people singled out for his online statement and charged to court.
Although the young man has deleted the tweets and apologized several times to the singer, there has been no response from Nathaniel Bassey who made the petition.
DJ Spoiltkid tweeted via his page;
“Dear @nathanielblow, @mercychinwo_, and Esteemed Family,
I write to you today with deep sorrow and repentance for the post I shared on my page, DJ Spoiltkid, on X the former Twitter. I am sincerely sorry for the unwarranted tweet directed towards you, Mercy Chinwo, your family, Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, and his family.
It shocked me to realize that I mistakenly included a heading in my tweet while sharing it, unknowingly offending the very individuals whose music I enjoy playing day to day. I deeply regret this action. Please know that I had no intention to harm, defame, or cyberstalk any of you. You are truly individuals whom I hold dear to my heart, and I respect the great work you have done in the body of Christ in Nigeria.
I sincerely apologize to each of you for the distress my actions have caused. Since realizing my error and understanding its impact, I have been apologizing. I have even sent apology messages to the email I found on the official website belonging to Pastor Nathaniel Bassey and have continued to lookout for other means I can get across to you and today I believe this email fortresslaw@gmail.com I got today will be able to let my apology message reach you both. I have since then deleted the tweet and issued apologies twice on the platform. Truly I have been weighed down with tears, with sleepless nights since realizing this mistake.
I appeal to each of you to find it in your hearts to forgive me. I promise to be more careful about what I share on my platform in the future and to use it to promote positive and non-negative discussions.
I plead with Nigerians and everyone that my actions have made unhappy to please forgive me. I will never make this mistake again in my life.
I would appreciate acknowledgment of my email and if possible the opportunity to speak with Pastor Nathaniel Bassey and Mercy Chinwo to properly express how sorry I am.
Please if you have any means I can use to reach Pastor Nathaniel Bassey and Mercy Chinwo help direct me please. Below is an email dated 4th which I sent but not sure the email address is monitored by your team.
God bless you all.
Regards, DJ SpoiltKid”
