Spain have secured their ticket to Euro 2024 with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Norway, all thanks to Gavi.
The Barcelona midfielder Gavi, helped his team qualify for the tournament scheduled to hold in Germany next year.
La Roja secured their spot amidst two remaining qualifying games in November. Their Group A rivals Scotland have also secured their ticket.
The match which held in Oslo, had an uninteresting start, with both sides struggling for possession. Spain thought they had taken the lead when Alvaro Morata found the net, but was disallowed after a lengthy VAR review.
The second half started with Norway fighting to put up an impression and possibly win the match to boost their own qualification hopes. However, it was Gavi who came through with a spoiler, firing home from close range.
Despite the goal, Norway made a late push to salvage the game, but their star player, Erling Haaland, was denied an opportunity in the final minutes.
Spain will face Cyprus and Georgia in November, as they now lead Scotland on goal difference in the Euro Group A qualifiers.
